Project type
Mockumentary on Urban Potholes ( 1 Week)
Project overview
This project began with a conversation between me and my two friends about a pothole-ridden street we passed every day. Frustrated by the lack of repairs, we joked that the potholes must lead to another universe. This absurd idea became the starting point for a satirical mockumentary about the potholes of India.
I worked as the screenwriter, director and animator. With a team of three, we collaborated across every stage of production, from developing the narrative to bringing the film to life.
Through interviews with local residents and fictional characters from the worlds of politics, art and academia, the film uses humour and satire to question our acceptance of potholes and poke fun at the fickle ways in which people respond to everyday problems.
This was made in collaboration with Prachi Sahasrabudhe and Sana Dinesh, guided by Avani Batra.
